At this point, the game must be continued from the last save point. A partner's death will also result in a game over. Discovered by Umbrella's security forces and eventually captured, Claire is imprisoned on Rockfort Island—a prison complex owned by the corporation, situated in the Southern Ocean. Sometime after her imprisonment, Claire finds herself released by one of the prison staff, and discovers that an outbreak of the T-Virus has occurred.
In the resulting chaos, she finds herself teaming up with Steve Burnside , another inmate seeking to escape. The gameplay has many innovations in comparison with the previous part. Added tokens that allow exploding barrels, rotate degrees and there are enlarged protagonists' pouches for weapons.
An improvement was also introduced, thanks to which it is now possible to upgrade weapons and their ammunition. In addition to these changes, the game has many new weapons, and one of them is the crossbow. The plot provides an opportunity to play as 2 main characters: Claire Redfield and her brother Chris.

Steve, in particular, is pretty terrible. I would not say that the voice acting is bad. It is more a product of its time, but the story is so good you can overlook it. I think that this is one of the best games in the Resident Evil series.
