Anecdote Factory: Hay wanted to design a game where two players might go off from the same starting point in opposing directions and have very distinct experiences that they could then relate anecdotally with each other After completing the game's introductory missions, most of the game's open world is accessible to the player and they are free to progress through these areas as they see fit; by comparison, previous titles in the series gradually opened up the game world to the player with story missions guiding their progress through open areas..The player is rewarded with "Resistance Points" for completing tasks in a given area, which might lead to key plot events. The "Resistance Meter," which separates each zone into three levels based on the location's hardness, is likewise influenced by these Resistance Points. When a territory is initially entered, the player will fight simple adversaries; but, as the Resistance Meter grows, the player will confront a larger range of enemy archetypes, culminating in aerial patrols and airborne attacks.Like in Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 4, the player may employ the "Buddy" or "Guns for Hire" systems to enlist the help of the residents in the county to fight alongside them. Guns for Hire allows the player to hire locals to join their cause, at which time they join the player in combat. Other non-playable characters in the game, known as "Specialists," have their own set of unique abilities and characteristics. Recruitment replaces the beacon mechanism utilized in earlier games. As an example, radio towers and bell towers were used in Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4, respectively, to open up the map and different activities in the area. The option to cleanup the downloads folder or to NOT delete the downloads folder? BTW, I did have a subdirectory inside my downloads folder deleted by disk cleanup once. Lesson learned. Another option. This also applies if you are using a download manager. Excellent suggestions. I downloaded the user manual for my new cell phone to the download folder. It was there for less than a week before it was gone. I found it in my setup folder where I keep the installation files for the apps on my computer. Good to know even if it is thirty five years or so late. Maybe some of them are still on my computer and nobody knows where Microsoft put them.It will find ,as its name implies, Everything even deleted files. It has many other options for searching. Hope this will help. I never had any idea there was any danger. After reading this article, I emptied the Download folder into another folder.Actually, I should take some time and move those files into more appropriate folders. Since my old Win 7 machines run with a standard user for everyone and an admin user for me, downloading a file while logged in as admin made it difficult for other users, either on the machine or on the network, to find these files.Problem solved! I believe it to be number 1 on the list above. But whatever or wherever it is located, I have never lost a file that I downloaded. And, as Leo suggests, if it is an important download, I move it to a separate, distinct folder and back it up! Makes typing these entries into various open and save dialog boxes MUCH easier. Some programs have their own default Downloads folder which is can be changed inside the program. You can move the Downloads or any folder using Windows File Explorer. This article explains how to move the My Documents folder but it works for any folder. I moved Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Music, and Videos inside the OneDrive folder so all my personal files are synchronized on the cloud and are on all of my computers.I have two Download folders. Other files in my Download folders are installation files for various programs. Never know if I might need or want it. Everything else I download goes into the appropriate folder. When I set up a new machine, I can often bring over the dozens of programs that the old one used; and in some cases I can use the same setup files used in the original machine. Now the minute the download finishes, the file disappears from the folder and if I go to the Download window to open it nothing happens and the Right Click, Open, and Open Containing folder options are greyed out. Edit: Go to Download Page is also grey. I've tried everything in those links you gave me, some of it twice. The only thing I didn't try is checking for spyware, etc, so I'm doing that real quick. Edit: Done, didn't help. If Open and Open Containing Folder in the right-click context menu in the Download Manager window are grayed then that means that the file is no longer in the original download location. It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.Try to disable the real-time live scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work. Files disappear immediately after downloading Win7, IE8 11 posts Started 10 years ago by wwoody Latest reply from vistamike Topic Viewed times. This post has been reported. Hi wwoody. It may also be your AV program that quarantines them - depending what IT thinks of the file. None of these steps worked. I can't even download IE9 from Microsoft. Disable your firewall for a test.Disabling the firewall didn't work either. If FF works then we can look at other problems that may be on your system Mike.
